How To Host A Moving Party

Make moving more fun and a little less stressful by throwing party to thank the friends and family who agreed to help you more. It is a great way to show your appreciation for all they have done. A Mother’s Touch Movers, an Melbourne FL moving company, offer some suggestions on how to host your party:

Decide The Specifics

Hosting a packing party means you need to settle on some details before the event as you would for any other party. Decide the day, time, and other details as soon in advance as possible.

Provide a Light Atmosphere

Keep the atmosphere fun by playing music, talking, and taking breaks. You could always play a game of cards or a round of a board game during a break before packing it away, provided there’s time. Your guests are doing a favor, so be thankful they’re there willing to help with the packing work.

Offer Refreshments

Provide an assortment of food and drinks for your guests. Packing, lifting, and carrying boxes gets tiring quickly. Cater to your guests’ tastes, as you would for a normal party. Include a special treat from a local place that may be too far to visit regularly once you complete the move.
In the evenings, you can have an ice cream party or order some pizzas and local takeout people love. For the mornings, choose pastries, donuts, and coffees. If there’s fresh food still left in your refrigerator, include it in your party spread. If you don’t have them on hand already, buy some paper or plastic dishes, napkins, cups, and utensils so you can still pack your dishes away.

Don’t Bother With Decorations

Because of the theme, there’s no point in dressing up your residence with the usual party decorations to entertain you and your guests. You don’t need to buy balloons, banners, streamers, and other such decorations, which will just be packed or discarded away (providing extra work).

Be Prepared

Your friends and family know the point of the party, so they will be ready to get to work. Have an organized list of what needs to be accomplished. Settle on specific tasks that your guests can help you finish, so that no one is left standing around with nothing to do. Create “stations” around the residence so that your guests can choose which aspect of the packing and moving process in which they want to participate. For example, they could work on the closets, kitchen, or bathroom areas, loading and lifting boxes. Let everyone settle into what they feel comfortable handling. The last thing on everyone’s mind should be stress!
