Our expert movers have had the privilege to assist so many people throughout Brevard County. We have helped families moving into their first homes, seniors transitioning into assisted living facilities, and businesses shifting to new office spaces. We can assist your move in a multitude of ways including: packing services, partial or full truck loading and unloading, and great prices on moving boxes and other necessary moving materials. From start to finish, we will take care of your precious belongings with all the expertise you deserve.

While we can assist you with your move, there are some things we cannot do for you. One of those things is getting you registered to vote, something that is extremely important during this season in our nation. If you have recently moved, here are some tips to get you registered to vote in Florida.

Your vote matters, and even if you move during an election cycle there is still time to make your voice heard. According to the Florida Division of Elections, whether you have moved to Florida for the first time, moved from another county within the state, or moved within the same county you must contact the Supervisor of Elections. The most important thing to remember if you are already a registered voter and have moved within the state of FL is that you must update your address if you intend to vote during the election this year. Not doing so will not prevent you from voting, but will require you to fill out a provisional ballot.

If you have not voted in the last few elections, you can check your registration status here.

Your registration is linked to your home address and if you have not moved since the last time you voted, you should be fine. However, it is always best to play it safe so check out the link above and see if you are still in the system.

For those of you who have yet to register to vote regardless of a move, you are in luck. A federal judge recently stepped in and extended the deadline to register to October 18, 2016. This was due to the effects of Hurricane Matthew. Imagine that, a hurricane actually brought about some positive change for our community. Here is the online registration form to get you started.

Moving has enough stress of its own whether it is across town or across the nation. With so much to consider when packing and then attempting to settle into a routine, wondering about the ins and outs of the voting process does not have to be one of them. Please make your voice heard this November. Check out the featured links in this post and familiarize yourself with Florida’s voting policies, and if you are planning on moving in the near future contact us!
